Empowering Girls in STEM: Karen Whitney Joins Science Club for Girls Honorary Board

I am delighted to join the Honorary Board of Science Club for GirlsMembers of the Honorary Board serve as visionary advisors and advocates for Science Club for Girls (SCFG), playing a pivotal role in the organizations mission to 'Transform the Face of STEM.' My fellow Honorary Board Members are esteemed leaders across business, government, academia, and relevant communities, who lend their names, expertise, and unwavering support. As champions of diversity and equity in STEM, the Honorary Board members are catalysts for change, supporting the next generation of women in STEM and fostering an inclusive future of innovation and opportunity.

Why do I believe that SCFG is the answer to driving inclusivity thru STEM?

Because of its proven 30-year model.

-start early (clubs for age 5yrs + with a TV show for 1st-3rd graders to drive interest in our programs)

-staying power (programming K thru 12th grade)

-remove barriers to entry (free & local/virtual clubs)

-mentor model - "if you can see it, you can be it"

- programming throughout the year across all STEM disciplines

Our annual Catalyst Awards to celebrate women and Girl in STEM starts 6PM on May 2, 2024 @ The Grand in the Boston Seaport. Buy a ticket and come join me and my fellow honorary board members to see what all the excitement is about!
