BioDot Inc Senior Leadership Team Opportunity
VP of Engineering —
Based in Irvine, CA

BioDot is at the center of a “perfect storm” with new ownership and capital, two new products providing an entry to new markets, and a rocket ship launch into its new business plan from overwhelming COVID test demand.

The Company
Over the past twenty years, steady progress in the miniaturization of biological tests has enabled smaller patient samples, less reagent use, and higher speeds. The COVID pandemic, requiring billions of tests, has put huge pressure on suppliers of technology for manufacturing rapid, low-cost tests at the nanoliter and picoliter scale.
BioDot Inc, under its founder, has for decades been a leader in the evolution of technology for the liquid transfer of samples and reagents from microliter to nanoliter to picoliter volumes. The company supplies liquid handling components, assemblies, and integrated sample processing systems to test kit manufacturers, R&D scientists, and clinical labs worldwide. The current installed base exceeds 5,500 units.

In March of 2020, company ownership transitioned from the founder to a growth capital investment firm. Their goal is to provide a path for a new management team to expand market presence worldwide for existing rapid assay kit manufacturing systems and develop new markets for two new advanced technology products in the integrated system space.

The CEO’s first task toward that goal is to build a strong management team capable of growing the business to $50MM in sales and solid profitability over the next few years. This is the opportunity of a lifetime for the right senior manager who craves the challenges and rewards of building an organization and executing a strategic plan for rapid growth.

The dramatic need for COVD testing has given BioDot a fast launch into its growth strategy with sales roughly doubling in 2020. Senior managers that join the new team will face the simultaneous challenges of overwhelming short-term growth in existing markets and exciting opportunities in new markets with two fresh product lines.
