VP/GM Life Science Optics – Rochester NY
The Life Science Optics VP/GM of IDEX Health & Sciences will provide strategic, commercial, operational, and technical leadership for the Optics business. We seek an inspirational, and execution-driven leader to manage the business unit to achieve sustainable profitable revenue growth while improving profit margins, build a great global team for Operation, Quality, Customer Service, R&D and Engineering, as well as Product Management. The ideal candidate will have proven experience working together with senior managers, building a cohesive culture that ensures the creation of innovative, profitable new products while maintaining customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a strategic plan to accelerate growth for optics in the Life Science Market. Lead and manage a team of 250+ employees in Rochester, NY and Carlsbad, CA sites comprised of R&D, Engineering, Operations, Quality, Customer Service and Product Management.

  • Grow the topline business and improve operational scalability as well as improve productivity.

  • Develop commercial strategies to drive growth of IDEX optical products in the Life Sciences Market.

  • Create and sustain a cohesive culture that works together to integrate new ideas for improvement at all levels.

  • Focus on increasing development of new life science products that further the company’s ability to win sub-system partnership as well as enhance the ability to respond to customers’ needs rapidly.

  • Effectively manage key operating metrics such as lead time, network capital, on-time delivery etc…

  • Execute the move of the recent Finger Lakes acquisition into the Rochester Optics Center of Excellence.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Proven and successful track record of General Management experience in the instrumentation market. Deep experience in optics and the life science too market a plus.

  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to evaluate organizations and work to align it with customer and corporate goals in mind.

  • Experience integrating “best in class” acquired entities successfully into a larger corporate environment.
    Based out of Rochester, NY work closely with colleagues in fluidics and other parts of IDEX to execute with excellence.

  • Managed a P/L of +$100M with a track record of driving innovation, operational excellence, and growth.
